Isobel qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined the Firm in November 2016. She is a fully accredited member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and specialises in elderly client law; Wills, probate, mental incapacity issues (including Lasting Power of attorney and Court of Protection work), care fee queries and assisting with assessments for Local Authority and NHS funding.
Elderly client law can involve sensitive matters and clients often have to face issues that none of us want to think about or deal with. Isobel believes that continually reviewing and keeping in contact with her clients, means these difficult decisions become less transactional and more relationship based, which helps to alleviate stress for clients at often difficult times.
Isobel has a particular interest in community care law which involves dealing with local authorities and the NHS in respect of care fees and deprivation of liberty and elder abuse. These are causes which she champions in her role as the East Midlands regional coordinator for Solicitors for The Elderly (SFE). SFE strive to ensure the highest possible standards in the industry and maintain focus on the client's interests at all times.
Outside work Isobel is a keen follower of Northampton Saints, all things medieval from Richard III to falconry displays and 1980's pop music.
